The first few episodes are devoted to Xie Lian and his friends Jun Wu(Takehito Koyasu), Feng Xin(Makoto Furukawa), Mu Qing (Chiaki Kobayashi), Sha Qingxuan (Nobunaga Shimazaki), and Shi Qingxuan (Ayako Kawasumi) looking for the missing official throughout the Ghost Realm. There isn’t a goal for this entire operation. Xie Lian and Hau Cheng are brought back together by it instead, and it also raises suspicions among others that Lian was involved in a horrible incident that happened a long time ago. This kind of use of an introductory plot arc isn’t always a terrible thing, but Heaven Official’s Blessing Season 2 spends entirely too much time on this part of the voyage.
