Welcome, Adrian Herrera!
We are pleased to inform you that we have recently hired Adrian Herrera as our newest Member Support Coach for the Operation Work program. Please join me in welcoming him to the Operation DREAM family.
Adrian comes to Operation DREAM with an extensive background working with youth as reflected in his recent position at Carmen High School as Dean of Student Character, Development and Culture. Adrian has a passion for advocating for youth and building strong relationships with their families.
He supports youth through the creation and monitoring of individualized improvement plans as well as implementing student support plans focused on establishing character development and healthy behaviors for those he serves.
His work as a teacher and mentor combined with his entrepreneurial skills has led him to create and develop his own nonprofit of FadesforgradesMKE. FadesforgradesMKE is a program that encourages young men to pursue their academics while working towards their future aspirations. He works with youth to develop positive support systems with the incentive of receiving a free haircut based on their academic achievements. This initiative has provided him with invaluable experience mentoring young men to the highest degree.
Adrian fully embodies Operation Dream’s mission to “ provide holistic support and developmental opportunities for young men and their families”. Our mission directly resonates with Adrian and has been a huge part of his life as demonstrated through his passion as a mentor, educator & entrepreneur.
Adrian brings to Operation DREAM, a broad network as he has worked collaboratively with social workers, school principals as well as community businesses to engage, mentor and guide youth while instilling positive social emotional skills and recognition of their full potential and self-worth. With his many years of experience, he has earned a reputation as someone who can simultaneously forge trusting relationships with youth and their families while mentoring young men to reach their fullest potential.
We are grateful to have someone of Adrian’s caliber now a member of our team. He has already provided great insight and perspective on ways that we can improve the way that we serve our young men.
