#GivingTuesday
Giving Tuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to kick-off the holiday giving season. #GivingTuesday is a day to inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support. We are looking to raise $5,000 for our Winter and Spring Programs.
As we begin this holiday season, We want to share with you how grateful we are for your support of Operation DREAM. Whether you've made a financial contribution, volunteered or simply shared the message of Operation DREAM, we are so very thankful for your support. It is with your investment in Operation DREAM that each child can survive and thrive!
As you know, Operation Dream is a small organization that makes a big impact on boys and young men in Milwaukee. Through your generous support boys and young men living in the poorest neighborhoods in the city receive mentoring, emotional support and access to programs that help them to develop into young adults with positive goals for their future, who are motivated to achieve their goals, and who in turn become assets to the community.
WE ARE SEEKING YOUR SUPPORT
Operation DREAM relies upon generous donations to provide life-saving changes for one of the most under-served populations – boys and young men of color. Operation DREAM provides positive experiences on Saturdays at our new home at the Holton Youth + Family Center in the Harambee and Riverwest neighborhoods.
Positive experiences on Saturdays are a real need in the city of Milwaukee
Most clubs and organizations are not open on the weekends and many children do not have access to weekend athletic opportunities, so providing boys ages K4 through 8th grade with full days of fun and enrichment provided by caring adult mentors can make a huge impact.
Operation DREAM provides:
Academic Enrichment
Life skills
Cultural awareness
Health and fitness
Choice time
Breakfast, lunch and snacks
Safe transportation between homes and the Center
Opportunities to participate in other Operation DREAM programs:
Teen mentoring through Operation Work
Tutoring through DREAM to Achieve
Field trips, team sports, and fun summer activities
Please join us this #GivingTuesday to raise money to support our winter and spring programming.
$30 will allow one child to attend a full day of programming on Saturday.
$120 will give one child this opportunity for one month.
$960 will sponsor a child for one full year of Saturday programming.
